Original French Etchings by artist Varin, Copyright by Sidney F. Lucas, Engraved in aquatint. Historical views printed in the mid 20th Century showing 19th Century Wall Street during the 1950’s in the heart of New York City’s financial district.
The 1956 etching depicts a city scene in tall buildings provide an interesting backdrop for depicting the typical day during that period. The landmark Trinity Church is the focal point at the end of the street. The cobble stone streets are teaming with supply wagons being pulled by horses and people and large sidewalks occupied with busy residents going about their day. The colors are subtle but distinct and the overall condition is excellent. The prints are framed in vintage wood frames behind glass. There are signs of age related wear on the wood. Dimensions: Frame 21”x27”, Etching is 20”x26".
