It has become increasingly more difficult to find such chromos in pristine condition with the passage of time This image is original to c1880s and is NOT a recent reproduction print. It features the Eschynanthus Pulcher, better known as the Lipstick Plant. It is a species of a perennial plant from the Far East. Its clusters of bright red flowers give it its name. The blossoms emerge from the dark green foliage to showcase their striking beauty. This botanical image has wonderful rich textured colors of deep reds set against the variegated deep and lighter green tones of its foliage. The plant's anatomical structures are noted on 3 sides of the image. Clean and pristine. 9 x 11 inches. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for standard size frame.
