The Longquan celadon glaze has been admired for almost a thousand years since the Chinese potters in Zhejiang province successfully fired the wares in the Song Dynasty in the 12th century. Celadon wares are collected worldwide today. This bottle shaped vase with a flare lip has cloud like designs carved into its body which adds to the appearance of the vase. The brass fittings have pretty engravings. It was made into a lamp in the 1920's. The brass fittings are made of quality material, and the engraving on the brass is well done. The wiring has been updated to today's requirements.
The photos are taken in a brightly lit room with natural sunlight and without any photoshop touchups. Without previous experience photographing a monochrome glaze, it was a good learning experience.
Please note the measurements given belong to the lamp with shade. The diameter of the base is 7 inches.
