A late 19th Century Japanese Arita porcelain vase of tapered, ovoid form rising to a short cylindrical neck with everted mouth, the whole decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze enamels and gilding with panels of genre scenes, floral motifs, kacho-e (bird and flower images) and formal devices, the foot surrounded by a band of lappets.
Highlights:
Colored in traditional Imari palette of cobalt blue, orange and green.
Graphic block pattern with landscape scenes.
Stylized swirling plant forms throughout background.
Baluster form with flared lip.
