Pink, green, yellow and blue flowers … Read more A rare Chinese enamel over brass floor vase - gentle summer pastel colours throughout. Pink, green, yellow and blue flowers and auspicious fruits of all kinds and shapes adorn this traditional floor vase.
This piece must have taken skilled craftsmen months and months to make.
The body is baluster shaped with a single exposed brass band engraved with a Greek key/fret pattern.
Both the neck and foot have decorative borders, the top of yellow and black interlinked auspicious ruyi shapes. The base band is an elegant blue and white ring of lotus petals from which the whole vase design emanates upwards into a mass of flowers from the pond theme below them.
A truly unique piece of enamel work that we estimate was hand made in the Second Quarter of the 20th Century.
Due to it's size it's a rare Chinoiserie piece and certainly a focal point in any room and seen in person does not disappoint.
From a high end Asian Collectors estate in Florida.
