Clearly shown is the rectangular indentation in the paper, known as the “plate mark”. This was made when the engraving plate was pressed onto the paper to impart the botanical illustration which was then hand colored. Interestingly, part of this print is left uncolored showing how the original engraving looked.

This is an original hand-colored Botanical engraving - not a reproduction. It is in excellent condition with no imperfections. Print is carefully packaged in an archival plastic sleeve with backing board, and shipped in a cardboard flat mailer with cardboard insert.
