A rare pair of labeled Borghese bookends in the form of Roman helmets with a feathery plume over an etched … Read more A rare pair of labeled Borghese bookends in the form of Roman helmets with a feathery plume over an etched helmet with visor, chin strap and Greek key border, resting on a speckled faux marble base. They probably date from the 40’s or 50’s and are most unusual with shades of orange visible on the dies of the helmet. One helmet has some dark drips on one side but it only adds to the character. Metal projections from each bookend fit under the books to stabilize them. A unique pair that have great presence, even as stand alone pieces. They would also make great bases for lamps. See less
