This oil painting on canvas is a beautiful still life composition featuring an orange, orange slice, and orange peel arranged with an antique Dutch (Delft) pitcher in blue and white. The painting measures 8" x 10" and comes with a frame measuring 16" x 18".

The painting is signed on lower right "Amy D. Brown" and comes with a notation on the back panel "O'Toole", and the frame is titled and labeled with an inventory number. The painting is in excellent condition, while the frame has a few bruises. It is worth noting that the painting is cut canvas mounted on an artist board of the period.

Amy Catherine Griffiths Difley Brown O'Toole ( that's a mouthful of a name) was an accomplished artist, born in New York in 1896, who later settled in San Diego, California. Her paintings were inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and coastlines of Southern California, which she captured on horseback in plein air style. She passed away in 1987. Her works are in the collection of the Serra Museum in San Diego. See less
