This heavy glass vase was designed … Read more This listing is for a vintage Midcentury Danish modern mouth blown art glass vase. This heavy glass vase was designed by the Danish artist, Per Lutken, for Holmegaard Glass in the late 1950's and was produced in 1960. These vases are lovingly referred to as "duck bill", "duckling", or duck beak" vases because of their iconic shaped mouth/rim. The color of this vase is called "Akva" or aqua and starts out as a bright sea blue at the cased bottom and gets lighter towards the neck and mouth. The vase is hand signed on the bottom "Holmegaard" and "1960" with I believe Per Lutken's intertwined initials PL in between the 19 and 60. The vase is substantial and is rare in this large size. It measures approximately 5-3/4 inches in diameter at its widest point and stands at 16 inches tall and weighs approximate 4.5 pounds. The vase is in excellent vintage condition with respect to age and use. It is very clean and free of any visible defects with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This is a striking piece of decorative modern art glass that would look lovely in a modern contemporary or transitional home. See less
