Their clothing is early 18th Century and the male is holding a bird and the female a fan. These are from the nineteenth century and have some old repairs and cracks, they have a iron bar at the base in the front and an area in the back for weights or a small plant. These were designed to fool visitors and placed at a distance in large homes or castles to make it look like people were there. The painted boards are 1" thick. See less
