An example of the Mid-Century Modern creations by Tamara Aladin, for the Finnish glass factory Riihmäki/Riihimäen Lasi Oy. Riihimaki was founded in 1910 and became the largest glass factory in Finland after buying a competitor in 1927. The company changed its name to Riihimaen Lasi Oy in 1937, the factory produced art glass until 1976. Early designers included Gunnel Nyman, Henry Ericsson, Arttu Brummer and after 1945, well known glass innovators like Nanny Still (1949), Timo Sarpaneva, Helena Tynell (1949), Tamara Aladin (1959), Erkkitapio Siiroinen (1968) and others.
