Made in Czechia in the 1960s, attributed to Jaroslav Smidek who designed for many prominent Czech furniture makers of the mid-20th Century, the design combines the cushioned comfort of a gently reclined seat with the keen lines of an angular wooden frame. The mahogany finish of the wood and the grey linen of the upholstery create a subdued color palette, while a subtle patina reveals glimpses of the warm wood beneath the cool exterior. Perennially stylish, this vintage pair would be equally at home in spaces grand or intimate. See less
