These chairs are ‘lyrical’ - the profile is light and curvy and semi-playful! The ebonized hard wood (or black lacquer?) has simple hand-painted gold lines + detail on back scrolled splat w/fleur-de-lis detail and side lines, (like whiskers).
Chair backs are rectangular featuring a scrolled or pierced splat as well as a hand caned panel. The arms have a simple scroll detail, while the architectural legs have a gorgeous, rounded profile with simple tapered feet.
The seat cushion has been reupholstered in a piped silk taffeta multicolor stripe from it’s delicate original silk + velvet brocade fabric. The seat frame has 2 holes that securely lock into the 2 pegs on chair frame.
Measurements: 36” ht from floor to top of back. Front of chair is 20” and tapers to 17.5” back. Arm ht is 26” and 19” d. Back scrolled panel is approx5.25” ht x 15.5” l, a 1.5” space and then caned back panel is 5.5” ht x 15.5” l. The seat cushion which is curved for comfort measures 17”w front to 15” taper in back and is 19.5”l.

Overall the condition is excellent, near mint! Especially considering the age
