Large French Vintage Nevers Faience Pitcher Hand Painted Blue, Yellow Majolica Pottery. Traditional Kitchen Décor.
Large footed pitcher with foliate embellished vignette painted on body features two 17th C. Swordsmen in landscape setting. A blue ground accentuates yellow/gold hand painted acanthus leaf and banding embellishments. The sponge painted handle has been repaired where it connects to the jug and on the handle itself (photos). The body is in good condition. Paint is vibrant. Chipped glaze flake at foot.
Signed, "Nevers" bottom.
