This engraving by Piranesi (1720-1778) depicts ornate elements of architecture. Some of his work was imaginary, but Piranesi’s passion was to glorify the architecture of Ancient Rome. He was born to a stone mason and trained as an architect. After a slow start, he experienced success. This print shows high burr relief, and is framed and archivally presented.
This print is in good original condition. There is a crease from a fold where the page was extracted from a folio. Please see photos for detail.
