Constructed of silver-plated copper, the rectangular casket features elaborate repoussé decoration on the hinged lid and all four sides, showcasing intricate allegorical scenes with cherubs surrounded by scrolling foliage, floral garlands, and ornamental motifs.

The raised decoration is beautifully detailed, with richly textured surfaces framed by delicate beaded borders. The hinged lid opens to reveal a luxurious deep blue velvet-lined interior, providing a soft and protective space for rings, bracelets, necklaces, and other treasured keepsakes. The front is fitted with an ornate lock plate, and the original key is included, adding to the authenticity and charm of this 19th-century French accessory.

The silver-plated finish has developed a warm, aged patina that accentuates the depth of the repoussé work and highlights the intricate decorative scenes. Its compact proportions make it an ideal addition to a bedroom vanity, dressing table, or bathroom counter, while its detailed craftsmanship also makes it a collectible decorative object.

The antique Napoleon III jewelry box is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its rich silver-plated patina and blue velvet interior.
