Chinese porcelain Wu Fu butterflies tongping, a sleeve shaped vase with a flared rim, oxblood glazed exterior and throat, and … Read more Chinese porcelain Wu Fu butterflies tongping, a sleeve shaped vase with a flared rim, oxblood glazed exterior and throat, and a white glazed interior, lip and inset base. The body of the vase has two, large, gold, Wu Fu Peng Shou medallions on two sides, each with five, finely drawn, Fu Bats around an ornate cartouche filled with a lattice of varied, seal script, Shou characters supporting a centered, double square with a large Shou character against a ground of white vines. Both medallions are surrounded by finely drawn butterflies, also in a gold glaze. Just below the rim there is band of gold, quatrefoil medallions bracketed by fine, gold trim circles, and the neck has a band of gold, floral medallions with a band of floral Ru Yi lappets below, on its flange. The foot has a band of large, gold, Ru Yi lappets ending in double, gold, trim circles. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. A red, four character, Qianlong, reign mark in Zhuanshu script within double squares is glazed to the inset base. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
