This lamp is … Read more Vintage Home is pleased to present this gorgeous hand painted Italian Elephant porcelain and brass table lamp. This lamp is substantial and much larger than the pictures show. The lamp was bought in the Tuscan city of Florence, also known as Firenze, by a woman who traveled for her job with the United Nations. She did outreach work in support of women’s rights and education. She purchased this lamp in the 1970s while working in Italy. The design is gorgeous. The elephant is highly ornate and detailed in Royal Blue, Permission Orange and Gold with his truck up which represents Good Luck. He is draped in a gold blanket and is standing on a wood base with brass trim. This is a statement lamp and will command a room or entryway. There are double sockets and the lamp has been converted to USA electrical use. The square stem of the lamp is adjustable in height from 24” to 29”. We have complimented the brass design with a new metallic Gold drum shade. No harp is needed and the Finial is included. The lamp retains its makers sticker, Societa Porcellane Artistiche
