It was made in Portugal and is handpainted majolica. It is in the form of a pitcher. . . but should definitely not be used as such because the styling of the handle would NEVER support both the item itself and liquid contents. It is to be used exclusively as a decorative item or vase. It features vibrant red peonies and leaves and coordinated solid bands at top and bottom. the handle is a stunning pair or intertwined speckled serpent's.

There is a significant amount of vertical underglaze crazing on the vase. It is visible upon close inspection of the photographs provided. My belief it that it is intentional, as it does add a certain "eminence grise" too the item, which otherwise might appear to be too young because of the vibrant playfulness of the pattern, known as "Strausbourg Flowers".

The vase is marked "Tiffany & Co" at base. It stands 8.25" tall and has a mouth opening of 3.875", excluding the spout. There is crazing. There are no chips. Made in Portugal.
