Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai sky blue meiping, gold glazed lip, sky blue glaze with small pattern iron wire craquelure on the body, white glazed interior and inset base, a red, Da Ya Zhai mark and red, Tian Di Yi Jia Chun cartouche are glazed just below the neck flange. The body of the vase has finely drawn perching birds amid branching vines, leaves and blossoms all in a finely shaded grisaille glaze. A four character, red, Yong Qing Chan Chun, reign mark is glazed to the inset base. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century.
The mark Dayazhai (Studio of the Greater Odes) has been associated with the Dowager Empress Cixi.
