Rare hexagonal Gu form 18th or 19th century Chinese export vase converted into table lamp.
I opened up the base and found 3 markings. a black stamp, a red calligraphic character that is slightly obfuscated by the place the vase was drilled and a partial foil label indicating the vase was imported and sold in Buenos Arias in the early 20th century.
Lamp appears to have once been covered with a stain that since mostly removed
I don't touch items as I am an advocate that items bear the histories of there past and all this is patina to me.
The vase it self is 11" x 5"
The lamp base is 6" diameter and the hight is adjustable up to 28" to finial
excellent condition
there is some verdigris on the brass
and the wiring is vintage with the plug for style for Argentina
