About The Artist: One of the best-known artists of the Art Deco generation, A.M. Cassandre’s posters not only defined the highly stylized geometric romance between image and text, but also highlighted the increasing use of marine and railroad transport. His ability to transmit the concept of speed and movement was trend-setting (as was his later use of photo-montage), and his posters are often considered the epitome of Art Deco style and elegance.
This classic poster is a restrike of the original. It illustrates the style for which Cassandre is best known - clean, precise and never using more detail than necessary. Pinholes in extreme corners, otherwise in excellent condition. Ready to be framed.
