A … Read more Vintage Signed Aquatint by Andrew Stevovich Titled "Twenty-One," Circa 1988. 7-color aquatint by noted contemporary figurative painter, Andrew Stevovich. A group of four seated figures play the game twenty-one with two figures standing in the background. The work is largely rendered with a playful sensibility in tones of red, aubergine, tan and navy. The group is depicted mid-game, with cards in play across the table in front of them. Each figure has a unique facial expression. Titled “Twenty-One” in pencil at the lower center of the print. Numbered 10 in an addition of 100. Pencil signed in the lower right and dated 1988. Stevovich still produces work today, with earlier works like this, harder to find in the market. Framed in a minimal light oak frame with white mat.

“Stevovich grew up in Washington, D.C. As a young child spent time in the National Gallery of Art, where he was drawn to the Renaissance paintings that would later inspire his work. Stevovich's images depict people in everyday situations and locations but convey a sense of mystery. He works in oil and pastel, and is also an accomplished printmaker and etcher. Stevovich holds degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts College of Art, and is represented in many important public and private collections. His work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions across the United States as well as abroad.” - Adelson Galleries
