Beautifully crafted from walnut … Read more Divine pair of French caned lounge chairs or armchairs featuring the original art nouveau style needlepoint. Beautifully crafted from walnut in the grand Louis XVI taste with a flat square back and seat. The seat and backs are caned and the sides have double caned walls. The flat arms measure 24.5 inches high with matching needlepoint pads. The molded frame has gracefully curved arms and arm supports ending with reeded finials. The upholstery has been lovingly restored with new fabric cushions and the original needlepoint covers. The covers have a foliate spray motif in vibrant shades of green with a beige ground. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with intact cane and an aged, faded patina on the walnut. The chairs are supported by tapered and fluted legs. From an estate in the Napa Valley, CA. The needlepoint covers have been signed on the corners. All the needlepoint has been laundered and the fabric is new.
