An elegant 1930s French Art Deco black glass vase manufactured by Verreries d'Art de HEM and designed by Michel Herman. Silver and pink salmon deposit decoration on one side to create an exotic fish design pattern. The vase is marked "HEM" on the side. The stamp on the bottom is "Tchecoslovaquie," which indicates that it was manufactured in Czechoslovakia for the French and Belgian markets. Michel Herman is a well-known glass maker of the 1930s period in Paris, his known signature on the pieces is "HEM."
