Vintage MCM large and glamorous silver plated chip and dip serving try in the shape of two tiered clam shells. The underside has it's original label which reads "ENGLISH SILVER MFG CORP , MADE IN USA" This specific mark was used from 1938 to 1976. This piece is both functional and stunningly beautiful. It is large in size and intricate in detail. The main portion of this serving piece is the base which is a large bowl in the shape of a classic Louis XIV-style clam shell. The edges are scalloped and the bottom of the shell is footed. There is a separate and removable dip bowl which is situated in an elevated manner at the base of the shell bowl. And there is a third removable tier which was designed to place your toothpicks or serving spears. It is ideal for serving chip & dip, shrimp & cocktail sauce, or any other fun things you can dream up!
