A large Chinese porcelain dragon meiping, with blue and white glazes and an unglazed base. A finely drawn and shaded, four-clawed dragon of the imperial court carries the Taoist pearl of wisdom in his jaws, looking back at his tail. The neck is banded by double blue rings, with a collar of large, blue, Ru Yi lappets below. Large, blue, Ru Yi lappets also band the foot, ending in double blue rings. A blue, six character, horizontal Xuande reign mark is glazed just below the Ru Yi collar at the neck. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, circular stand is included. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
