This Really is an Absolutely Beautiful Antique - Victorian Majolica Sardine Serving Dish - Box with Lid. Circa Late 19th Century. It is Rendered in the Classic Aesthetic Victorian Era Naturalistic Nautical Style. It is Rendered in a Embossed Basket Woven Design and The Handle on the Lid is Mounted with a Figurative Sea Snail Shell Siting on a Bed of Seaweed. The Corners are Embossed Decorated with Beautiful Lavender Color Clam Shells. It has Very Fine Detail in the Molded Features. It is Hand Decorated in Outstanding - Rich Traditional Majolica Color Combinations. It has No Maker or Other Markings but it is Most Likely American in Origin. It is in Excellent Condition - No Damage - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully. It has Some Light Age Glaze Crazing but That is Perfectly Normal with This Type Antique Majolica Pottery. Note that It Could be Used For Serving Other Things Such as Nuts, Candy, Dips & Sauces, Pickles - Olives Etc.
It Measures Overall Approx. 4 inches Tall x 8 3/8 inches Long x 7 3/8 inches Wide.
