Superb Art Deco pair of crackled ceramic bookends by Le Moine, France. Off-white colored crackle glaze ceramic or faience sculpture featuring a pair of elephants with contrasted black enameled glaze application. The bookends are marked "Le Moine" on the base of each piece. There is also a mark reading "VF" underside, which is very likely the manufacturer's hallmark.
Measurements for one bookend: 4.75 in. wide (12 cm) x 4.32 in. deep (11 cm) x 6.69 in. high (17 cm).
