This hand painted Yamatoku charger came from the Imari port in Japan, and it was made at the Yamatoku kiln … Read more This hand painted Yamatoku charger came from the Imari port in Japan, and it was made at the Yamatoku kiln around the later part of the Meiji period. This charger was handmade wheel thrown by a skilled craftsman who made this plate in a Meiji period geometric six panel design with a hand painted abstract tropical bamboo beach scene painted in three of the six panels. The artist filled in the six panel abstract geometric design with bright reds, dark greens, and a deep blue that covers the whole charger with great use of color. This Imari ware charger measures 11 3/4" wide by 1 6/8" tall and it is in "Pristine Condition" with no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no crazing to the glaze, and very little wear for the age of the piece minor scratches and paint loss only.
