Artist: Paul Albert Besnard
This original WWI War Bonds poster was designed by Paul Albert Besnard (French, June 2 1849 - December 4 1934). Shown is the personification of Victory protecting a woman and her young child. This poster is asking the French people to invest in rebuilding France after the war with the tagline "Souscrivez pour hâter la paix par la victoire," which translates to "Subscribe to hasten peace through victory." Linen backed and in excellent condition.
