This Really is a Great Looking - Very Unusual Antique Majolica Teapot. Circa Late 19th Century.
It Comes From the Classic Aesthetic Victorian Period and it is Rendered in a Whimsical Figurative Fish Design that Depicts a Large Fish is Swallowing a Small Fish with its Tail Creating the Spout. It has Very Fine Detail in the Molded Features. It is Hand Decorated in Beautiful Traditional Majolica Color Combinations. It has No Maker Marks but it is Most Likely English in Origin. It is in Very Good All Original Condition with No Cracks & No Repairs - is Perfectly Functional. Minor Imperfections Noted - It has 1 Small Chip on the Edge of the Top - Lid Hole Area, A Chip on the Edge of the Lid and a Very Small Chip on he Inside Lower Rim of the Lid - These Can Best Be Seen in the Last 3 Photographs in My Listing. It is Some Very Light Age Glaze Crazing but That is Perfectly Normal with This Type Antique Majolica Pottery. It Displays Beautifully.
It Measures Approx. 6 1/4 inches Tall x 11 1/4 inches Long x 5 1/2 inches Wide.
