A fun, attractive and whimsical solid wood carving, featuring old fashioned primitive craftsmanship, depicted in stylized farmhouse rooster form. The whimsy figure mounted standing, resting atop a single rustic plank base, rising on two straight legs, most unusual coloring and proportions, ending in a flouncy red wooden tail.

Original layers of red, yellow, white and black pigment decorate this charming zoomorphic creature adorned contrasting dots.

In Guatemala animals and birds have long been regarded as sacred in some religious practices and throughout ancient mythology, as well as a main source of symbolism.
