1976 French Jacques Monory exhibition poster, Blue Woman Photograph. Jacques Monory (born 1924) is a French painter, living in Cachan (a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France). He studied as a painter and decorator, discovering photography while working under the art editor Robert Delpire for ten years. Monory was one of the first painters of the French figuration narrative movement in the 1960s, a movement created in opposition to abstract painting. Preoccupied with the violence of daily life, he developed themes using images issued directly from contemporary society sourced from photographs or movies. These were often monochromatic and tinged in blue -- a signature of his work.
Poster was printed by Maeght, one of the foremost Parisian printers of the time. In excellent condition, will look beautiful framed!
