Francisco Tamango (French 1851-1933) "Elixer Mondet" poster c.1899
Late 19th and early 20th century French advertising posters are known for their size and graphics. This fantastic, full color poster has a beautiful woman,and young man in the French Alps. She has already reached the top of the trail, as her friend trails behind. At the top of the pass she finds a bottle of French Elixer, or Cordial Apertif Alpin, surrounded by flowers.
We consider this poster to be in very good antique condition. The poster has been relined to linen, ensuring it's stability for the decades to come.
The poster has minor foxing, and some staining at the bottom (see pics), though these are consistent with the age of the poster, and these are all issues that were present before the poster was given a proper linen backing.
Large dimensions 43" x 55".
Ships carefully rolled in a large tube.
