Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai bird and flower haitangzun, a begonia shaped vase, the exterior has an imperial yellow glaze … Read more Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai bird and flower haitangzun, a begonia shaped vase, the exterior has an imperial yellow glaze covered with a small pattern iron wire craquelure and the lip, throat and the inset base have a turquoise glaze with small pattern iron wire craquelure. The lower interior has a white glaze. A red Da Ya Zhai mark and a red Tian Di Yi Jia Chun oval cartouche are glazed just below the neck. The vase is covered in black and white, perching magpies on branching, lavender, plum blossoms. A red and white, four character, Yong Qing Chan Chun reign mark is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, circular stand is included. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century.

The mark Dayazhai (Studio of the Greater Odes) has been associated with the Dowager Empress Cixi.
