This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Original Matched Set of 3 Antique American Drug Store Apothecary Bottles. Circa Late 19th Century. They have Applied Reverse Painted with 22K Gold Leaf Labels that Identify the Intended Contents. Note! the Unusual Blue Painted Color - Highlights. They Hand Ground and Fitted Stopper Tops. One of the Bottles - Glass and Stopper has Acquired a Light Purple Color Over the Years. This is an Interesting Characteristic of Colorless Glass which Contains Manganese Dioxide Giving it a Tendency to Turn Different Shades of Purple when Exposed to the Rays of the Sun or to other Ultra-Violet Sources. Condition. 2 of the Bottles Have Internal Cracks - Inclusions at the Stopper Area that Appear to have Been There for a Very Long Time - These Can Best be Seen in The Last Photograph in My Chairish Listing. 1 of Them has Some Imperfections as Result of Age in the Reverse Painted Features ( Not Cracks in the Applied Glass Label ). All in All they are In Strong - Sound Condition and The Set Displays Very Nicely. Note Also that there are Remnants of Old Paper Labels on The Back of 2 of The Bottles.
Each Measures 8 1/2 inches Tall x 3 inches Long - Wide.
