Chinese porcelain insect and flower cong vase, white glazed interior and inset base, reddish-orange glazed ground with gilt decoration of … Read more Chinese porcelain insect and flower cong vase, white glazed interior and inset base, reddish-orange glazed ground with gilt decoration of the body, neck and foot. The neck is banded by gold Ru Yi lappets and double, gold, trim circles around the lip. The upper and lower shoulders of the vase have finely drawn, gold, flower and vine decorations. Each face is framed by finely drawn, gold, flower and vine decorations around vertical gold Shou characters and each face has a unique garden scene with finely drawn plants and insects on a white ground. Two of the faces have a finely carved, blue, elephant head handle holding a gold ring. The extended foot is banded by a gold meander. A red, four character, Lai He Tang Zhi, Kangxi mark, within a red square, is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, circular stand is included. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
