This embroidered vintage Indian textile features a patchwork of heavily embroidered Kantha quilt and mirrored chaakla bits. It is rich in hand embroidery, color, and texture with a faded indigo blue separating the individual squares.
This smaller size is perfect for a table runner, small wall hanging, or repurposing into a throw pillow. Too many colors to list, but the primary colors are light and bright pinks, black, chartreuse, and faded indigo blue. Appears to be mostly handstitched, with some machine stitching too.
This textile was one of several hand-sourced in India directly from antique merchants. Their unique patina, wear and imperfections carry a glimpse into the culture and regions they resided in for decades prior, the passing of time, and the dedication, labor, and skill of their makers.

Item is visibly faded, distressed, and worn typical of age and consistent with most of the Indian wall hangings in our collection, which distinguishes them from newer, mass-produced textiles made for the tourist and import markets. Most items show some discoloration, missing patches of embroidery or mirrors, and faint water stains in some cases. less
