With artwork by the noted artist Georges Schreiber, this vintage World War 2 war bond poster was dedicated in memory of the U.S.S. Dorado which was sunk off the coast of Cuba.
Commissioned by the United States Government to create a series of war bond poster, Schreiber had a personal link to the U.S.S. Dorado, a Gato-class submarine, having sailed with the ship in the summer of 1943.
This is an original poster not a reprint. It was stored folded for many years and shows signs of wear consistent with its age.
