moreThis wonderful antique engraving is from Baron d'Eisenberg's The Art of Riding a Horse, or Description of the Modern Ride in Its Perfection or École de cavalerie, contenant la connoissance, l'instruction, et la conservation du cheval. The work was written and drawn by Eisenberg and engraved by B. Picart. It was published circa 1733. Presented in archival matte and framed in a contemporary gold finish wood frame.
The Neapolitan Horse is a rare and endangered horse breed that originated in the plains between Naples and Caserta, in the Campania region of Italy, but which may have been bred throughout the Kingdom of Naples. The Neapolitan horse was frequently mentioned in literature from the 16th to the 19th centuries, and is noted for its quality. Some sources state that by 1950, the original Neapolitan horse was deemed extinct, but its lines were incorporated into other breeds, most notably the Lipizzaner and Murgese.

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
