Chinese porcelain Eight Immortals baoyuenping, a moon flask shaped vase, white glazed front and back, imperial yellow glazed neck, sides … Read more Chinese porcelain Eight Immortals baoyuenping, a moon flask shaped vase, white glazed front and back, imperial yellow glazed neck, sides and extended foot. The turquoise glazed interior and inset base are covered in a small pattern iron wire craquelure. The lip is banded by a blue meander border within thin red trim circles with a band of small, pink Ru Yi lappets below. The bulb of the neck has ornate, polychrome, floral medallions within leafy flowering vines front and back, and is flanked by orange strap handles covered with a gold, flower and vines pattern. The bases of the strap handles have ornate floral cartouches. The lower neck has a band of orange and gold meanders, a narrow band of blue circles and a band of four floral cartouches, all bracketed by double red trim circles. The ornate floral decoration is continued on the sides and extended foot of the vase. Finely painted images of four of the Eight Buddhist Immortals are glazed to the front of the vase and four Immortals glazed to the back, all riding the ocean waves amid clouds with a mountain landscape in the distance. A four character Qianlong reign mark within double blue squares is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional. Chinese hongmu rectangular stand is included. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
