We love the open negative space created by the off-center framing of the sitter. She appears to be a serious young woman or perhaps a teen girl, circa 1930s - 1950s judging by her dress and hair. Sketch is rendered in pencil, and is unsigned. The off-white art paper has some spots due to age, but we love how these look on the piece in contrast to the newer framing. (I would note that the paper's aged spots appear darker here than they actually are in real life.)
Frame is wood with black paint and a raised gold gadroon detail, and the ivory mat has an inner beveled gold liner which accents the opening. Mat view opening area measures 7.5" across x 9.5" tall. The piece with mat only measures 11" x 14" should you chose to change the frame it is a standard size.
