The interior bottom … Read more Large Chinese porcelain lotus pond bowl, blue and white glazes, with an indented rim and skirted foot. The interior bottom depicts a carp swimming in a lotus pond, surrounded by a narrow vertical band of pointed lappets bracketed by double blue circles. The sides of the bowl are decorated with the intertwining leafy vines and flowers of the Chinese Sunflower (Xiang Ri Kui), which design continues on the exterior sides of the bowl, and again at the inset base. The white glazed extended foot is banded by a serrated skirt above. The base has another concentric ring level with the foot, the outer band decorated with the sunflower motif, and the inner ring decorated with bands of stylized wavelets that surround a blue six character Yongzheng reign mark within double blue circles. The finely carved, traditional Chinese hongmu plate stand is included. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century. See less
