This is a stunning and somewhat rare set of vintage mid 20th Century UV Reactive ruby red hobnail-textured cups, saucers, … Read more This is a stunning and somewhat rare set of vintage mid 20th Century UV Reactive ruby red hobnail-textured cups, saucers, dessert plates, and fruit bowls in a deep red that when held up to the light reflects hints of orange also known as "amberina" by enthusiasts.

The tops of the plates and interior of the mugs and bowls is smooth and glossy, whereas the exterior is a pseudo-hammered, pebble-textured and semi-matte finish to help with holding them.

Originally produced in France in the 1960s, these are made by Arcoroc and known as the "Vercors" pattern that appears to have a mythical quality and cult-like devotion. We have been unable to find accurate information or photographs of complete place settings, it's THAT obscure and enigmatic.

What we do have, however, are six (6) complete and intact 4-piece breakfast and snack settings that include:

6 cups that each measure: 3 1/8" in diameter, 4 1/2" from rim to handle and 3 1/8" in height.
6 saucers that each measure: 6 1/4" in diameter and 7/8" in height.
6 salad / dessert plates that each measure: 7 3/4" in diameter and 7/8" in height.
6 fruit / dessert bowls that each measure: 4 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/4" in height. See less
