This … Read more This is a Great Looking Antique Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. Circa Mid 19th Century. This Approx. 2 Quart Capacity Jar has a total of 4 Hand Decorated Cobalt - Navy Blue Decorations Around the Upper Perimeter. These Smaller Size Jars were Typically Used for Jelly's & Jams - Preserved Fruits - Vegetables Etc. It has No Maker Marks but I did Purchase it on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Lancaster Pennsylvania Region. It is in Excellent Cosmetic and Structurally Strong - Sound - Usable Condition. It has No Cracks - No Chips - No Repairs and it Displays Beautifully. It has a Few Very Minor Surface Kiln Glaze Imperfections that would have Occurred in the Making - Firing Process. These types of Flaws are Quite Common Since These Pieces were Made in Batches and Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time. It would be Great in Country Primitive Style Kitchen to Store and Display Wooden Spoons - Utensils Etc.
It Measures 8 1/2 inches Tall x 5 1/2 inches Wide - Long.
