Petite blown "Glass Onion" bottle (characterized by its bulbous, onion shape) in seaweed green, which is so dark it appears black depending on the light (ca. Mid-20th Century, USA).
Beginning in the 17th Century England, "Glass Onions" were utilized on ships for holding liquor and wine, due to the stability of their wide bases on the high seas.
This bottle lacks the crudeness of the early examples, retaining the 'onion-shaped' base though formed in a more polished, refined, Modernist style.
Asymmetrical, stacked lip, short neck and pontil base present.
