Pineapples, Flowers and leaves surround this Celadonware bowl, in the English Jade Color in a beautiful heavy relief pattern. From one of the last 2 Celadon makers in the mountains of Chiang Mai Thailand.
It is made of stoneware - much heavier than ceramic. The glaze - English Jade, is more of an olive color, this is one of the two colors made in Thailand (the other being the more prevalent Celadon green). The glaze appears to be more of a wash of color with the classic crackle finish with deep coloration in the relief of the design.
The functionality of this bowl is endless, and it is food safe. A wonderful serving piece or Beautiful in the center of a dining table with fresh flowers - floating or arranged or maybe a beautiful orchid plant, the possibilities are endless. With the detailed embossed design it would be a great stand alone piece as well.
The bowl measures 6” tall, 10” wide (9.25” inside width), 9” base, 4.75” footing.
