The neck is flanked … Read more Chinese porcelain pierced haitangzun vase, celadon glaze on the body and interior. white glazed inset base. The neck is flanked by carved, stylized dragon handles and its wide flange is banded by incised, pointed, leafy lappets with two incised medallions of peaches and insects below, centered between the handles. The body has two, pierced, square cartouches of intertwining vines around an auspicious character within a circle, centered on the front and back of the vase, which are flanked by wider bands of pierced floral lattices on the sides. There is a slightly raised flange above the extended foot. A blue six character Yongzheng reign mark in zhuanshu script is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved traditional Chinese hongmu circular base is included. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
