This English Thebes stool is a perfect example of the enthusiasm for everything Egyptian that started in the early 19th century with Napoléon I's conquest of Egypt and that will culminate in the 1920s with the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb by Howard Carter. Our walnut stool features a nicely curving slatted seat, raised on four legs with entasis, connected to one another with side stretchers adorned with pillar strut motifs and resting on turned feet. Highly decorative, this Thebes walnut stool circa 1930 will be a great addition to any decor, from modern to traditional. See less
